History of the Federal Academy of Public Administration

The Federal Academy of Public Administration was established as the central advanced training facility at the federal level on 28 August 1969 by virtue of a Decree of the Minister of the Interior, Building and Community of that time Ernst Benda.

This decree was based on a decision of the Federal Cabinet dated 11 June 1969.

Organisationally, the Federal Academy was and still is part of the Federal Ministry of the Interior.

Initially, the Academy had its headquarters in Bonn-Bad Godesberg; in the summer of 1987, a second seminar building in Boppard was opened.

Since 1988, the Federal Academy has been headquartered on the premises of the Federal College for Public Administration in Brühl.
