Executive Development

Executive development is a key instrument of modern personnel policy to train qualified young managers and to strengthen the management skills of executive staff in the federal administration.

There is a structural-organisational and a personal-interactive dimension to management.

The structural-organisational dimension includes internal framework conditions and manage­ment tools such as management policy and models, staff appraisal policies, target agreements and personnel development measures. The personal-interactive dimension is an outflow of the concrete management behaviour of the superiors and the way they implement their manage­ment tasks in real life management situations.

Both management dimensions require managers who combine excellent technical knowledge with social, personal and methodological skills. BAköV offers targeted advanced training measures which provide the necessary management know-how in a very practical way. These include compact trainings, which provide basic management skills, and separate modules on specific management issues such as two-way feedbacks between superiors and staff, job ap­praisals etc.
