Upward Feedback

In general, upward feedback serves to assess and develop leadership and cooperation within an organizational unit and is thus an important element of modern, comprehensive human resources development.

The central aims of upward feedback include:

  • giving supervisors feedback on their leadership performance
  • improving communication between supervisors and subordinate staff
  • identifying specific needs for change, progress and further training among supervisory staff
  • initiating behavioural changes

We can help by

  • training staff responsible for planning and introducing this human resources tool in their agencies
  • providing expert and substantive advising on agency projects
  • offering information on existing strategies and tools in the federal administration
  • designing individual and team-based measures for human resources development, such as leadership seminars and individual and team coaching
